Biomarker Analysis Services
Biomarkers can provide information on the different physiological pathways involved in disease progression and hence can be used to measure the safety and efficacy of the drug for a specific disease indication. Often, biomarkers are primary or secondary endpoints in clinical trials therefore performing biomarker analysis during drug development is critical to the success of clinical trials.
The bioanalytical laboratory at Pacific BioLabs can develop and validate methods to analyze biomarkers in preclinical and clinical samples such as plasma, serum, urine, tissue, and CSF. Over the past 20 years, we have performed bioanalytical method development for different biomarkers such as proteins, peptides and carbohydrates using LC/MS/MS, ELISA, MSD and activity assays.
Biomarker Analysis using LC/MS/MS
Our analytical/bioanalytical team has experience with developing and validating methods to measure biomarkers in animal and human samples. Notably, our team has developed methods to measure glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) as biomarkers in mouse plasma and tissue and our staff has been cited in published articles about this work. We have supported the development of many gene editing therapies (including CRISPR and Zinc Finger Nucleases) with biomarker analysis services.
Biomarker Discovery using MSD-ECLA
The multiplexing feature of the MSD-ECLA platform makes discovering biomarkers easier than ever before. Up to ten different analytes can be tested in a single well. MSD sells kits specifically designed for screening biomarkers. Rapid screening of proteins can expedite your search for clinical relevant end-points.
Preclinical Studies at PBL
PBL can support preclinical studies for biomarker analysis. We have a 14,000 square foot vivarium and we can dose the animals, collect the samples and analyze the samples all within the same facility. The PBL analytical and bioanalytical team also has experience supporting clinical trials and we would be happy to discuss how we can use our experience to support your bioanalytical testing needs.
